Summer is the perfect time to relax, enjoy the outdoors, and sit down with a good book (or listen to one!). Whether your favorite genre is fiction, biography, romance or science fiction, reading is something that can help enrich every summer.
I have compiled a list of my summer reading "books." Since my visual impairment makes reading in the traditional sense near impossible, the following books are all available for purchase on Audible as well.
Fiction
A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin
The Farseer: Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Cobb
Biography/Memoir
Becoming by Michelle Obama
Everything That Remains: A Memoir by the Minimalists by Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus
Year of Yes: How to Dance It Out, Stand In the Sun and Be Your Own Person by Shonda Rhimes
Personal/Professional Development
Dare to Lead: Brave Work. Tough Conversations. Whole Hearts. by Brené Brown
The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You're Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are by Brené Brown
Girl Stop Apologizing by Rachael Hollis
You are a Badass by Jane Sincero
If you have not already tried audiobooks - do it! Why listen to the same eight songs on the radio on your commute to work when you could read and grow your mind? You can listen to your favorites outside by the pool without worrying about the glare from the pages or on your eBook reader. Plus, your first 30 days of Audible are free!
There are so many books I want to add to this list and will update this post in the future if I am able to finish some of these and add more! Stay tuned!
