About Amy
AMY TIMMERMAN is native to the Philidelphia, PA area. She grew up attending her mother's dance studio, where her passion for the art grew. She developed a drive to become a dance educator, specializing in teaching students with various abilities. As a visually-impared dancer herself (Amy was diagnosed with Stargardt's Macular Degeneration in 2007), she has always seen dance as an outlet of self-expression and the opportunity to showcase her abilities over her disability.

Her academic career has taken her across the East Coast. After attending Montclair State University ('18) where she receive a B.Art in Dance with a concentration in Studio Teaching, Amy went on to receive an M.Ed in Higher Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University ('20). Amy currently works as a Student Affairs professional in North Carolina and hopes to continue to further her education by pursuing an M.F.A or M.A in Dance.

Outside of work and dance, Amy loves spending time outside, drinking (too much) coffee, and spending time with her fiancé and their two cats.
